The Queen Is Dead Zine

£10.00

My new zine.

The 8th September 2022 was in London a day of heavy rain and rumour. The Queen had been taken ill and the word was that this would be the end. Or the start, but of what wasn’t clear.

From the first rumours to the eventual state funeral 12 days later I was in central London with my camera trying to make sense of it all. Were we mourning for someone we’ve never met and whose death wasn’t a surprise, or for us as a people having lost our way somehow?

“The monarch is dead, but the problems of the people live on.”

Keir Hardie Labour leader and socialist MP in a speech after the death of Queen Victoria in 1901.
